Take Charge
30" x 30" x 2" oil on cradled wood panel
Take Charge encompasses so many meanings. This painting is about resurrection and taking charge of your own life; deciding who you want to be and which path to take. Will you stay weighed down and paralyzed, or do you strive towards something that makes you happy?
Our well-being is closely connected to nature. The ocean, for example, has healing powers, yet here we are, destroying it. Instead of finding refuge in nature we are drawn to never-ending consumption.
This painting is also about my grandfather, Anton Doubravsky, who was an electrician and understood that it is ok to take a break and to rest and recharge your battery. I strive to be more like him.
Danke Opa.
